The Second Roadmap for ASEAN Cooperation on Transboundary Haze Pollution Control with Means of Implementation (ASEAN Haze-Free Roadmap) (2023-2030) was adopted by the 18th Conference of the Parties (COP-18) to the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution (AATHP) held on 23 August 2023 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The Second ASEAN Haze-Free Roadmap presents the renewed Vision of “A Transboundary Haze-Free ASEAN by 2030” with updated goal, targets and indicators, strategies, means of implementation and a logframe to track the progress.
Building on ASEAN’s experience, the Second ASEAN Haze-Free Roadmap will adopt multi-disciplinary and science-based approaches, reflecting its deeper understanding of the causes and consequences of haze, as well as multi-stakeholder approaches, unique sub-regional needs, and the value of adopting diverse policy instruments.
